The Bridge Mate Dynamic Positioning concept consists of a number of DP and joystick systems designed to meet the IMO-MSC/Circ. 645 guidelines. Based on a distributed architecture that emphasizes both redundancy and segregation philosophies, the robust design is ideal for vessels that do not have service and system specialists on hand 24 hours a day, every day.
The Bridge Mate Thruster Control System uses three control computers and a redundant communication network for the main and backup control functions. The system can be interfaced with most types of thrusters, main engines and rudders, as well as fully integrated with other Bridge Mate systems, including autopilot, joystick or dynamic positioning.
Sharing the same software and hardware platforms, the Bridge Mate Autopilot can be fully integrated with all other Bridge Mate systems with no additional hardware required. Track-control-steering-approved when integrated with Marine Technologies’ conning display and ECDIS, the Bridge Mate Autopilot is Wheel Mark approved according to the latest requirements.
The Bridge Mate Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) is an integrated information system that displays a vast array of navigation information utilizing electronic charts. Designed with the vessel operator in mind, ECDIS is a vital resource for efficient route planning and monitoring. The C-Link 15 family of wireless radios is designed for medium-range applications, linking together a cluster of vessels, platforms and/or barges in a shared maritime or combined maritime/shore-side network constellation. The design of the network can be customized, from a simple wireless network with every wireless access point acting as a port on a network switch to more advanced MPLS networks with multiple ISPs added into the network.
The Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System (IBS) concept is based on segregated architecture comprising a dual redundant network, flexible console and monitor solutions, and extremely durable marine-approved computers without fans or hard disks. All applications, such as ARPA radar, ECDIS, conning, cameras, sensor control, and monitoring, are readily available on any multi-function workstation.
The Condition Monitoring System is built on years of experience in maritime operations. The system is capable of continuously monitoring a variety of variables on board a vessel — vibration, ultrasonic sound and vibration, oil monitoring, engine-bearing monitoring (thermo voltage), engine-oil mist, engine splash oil, shaft power/torque, pressure, temperatures, flow and more. The COBRAS Fuel Advisory System helps to reduce a vessel's fuel usage and emissions. The system calculates optimal speed, trim, and draft for a planned route. A live view/display is available on the bridge while the vessel is underway, and voyage reports are generated on actual usage and savings. The system can be retrofitted to any existing fuel meter/signal or delivered together with fuel meters from Marine Technologies.
The COBRAS system is a machine-learning system that can be used as a conditional risk-assessment system or for the general monitoring of sensors and signals. The system has a variation of areas it can be used for, including condition monitoring alarms and trending, collision avoidance of vessels, fuel monitoring, and vessel-operation readiness.

MT performed a facelift on the bridge of the 2005 297′ MSV OCEAN INTERVENTION III by upgrading the dynamic positioning system and swapping the old thruster control system with a new Bridge Mate TCS. The navigation bridge, consisting of an autopilot, ECDIS, and radar from various vendors, was replaced with a new MT Bridge Mate Integrated Bridge System (IBS) with multi-function touch monitors and MT overhead instruments and indicators.
Marine Technologies' integrated solutions make it possible to replace a significant amount of hardware with the use of modern touch HMI. All monitors are multifunctional and act as backup for each other. The MT Autopilot can be controlled by a dedicated operator panel, but it can also be operated from the MFW in front.
